Buddy Haack and I began writing the first Megayacht Wisdom book with the thought of educating yacht owners before they moved up into the 100 plus foot yachting arena. We published a soft cover edition in 1997 and had a very successful effort within the yacht industry. The reason for writing stemmed from meeting many owners who had unhappy stories to tell us regarding their own experiences as first time Megayacht buyers.
In 2000 we released Megayacht True Stories, which is a compilation of 10 true life dramas at sea. This book sold beyond our expectations also within the industry. Most readers knew some of the real characters in the stories and this made the book more interesting to them. This hard cover edition is a timeless read that we are sure anyone would enjoy even if they are not in yachting.
In 2004, we wrote Megayacht Wisdom II in a hard cover edition. This book has also sold very well over the years and is presently in its 3rd reprint. With 18 additional chapters written by yachting professionals, the information is still relevant today and helpful to yacht owners, captains, and project managers. We recommend this book as a text if you are considering a refit, new construction, or how to manage your existing yacht.
These books are our best effort to share some of our own yachting passion with you as a reader. More recently we released the Megayacht True Stories in CD-MP3 format for listening enjoyment. Professional read, this CD is unabridged and an enjoyable way to hear the 10 real life adventures.
